“Every year there is a lot of anticipation and excitement as the ND Rifle season gets ready to kick off in November. The talk at every gas station is of the big bucks being seen and harvested all over the state. I was very fortunate this year and had the opportunity to find this Mule Deer at first light on the second week of the season. I watched him chase does from about 1000 yards away until he had enough and just bedded in a dry creek about 600 yards from my vantage point. All day I sat and glassed waiting for him to get up as the wind was wrong for me to approach him and the valley was too wide open to close the distance anyways. After about 6 hours the deer decided he get up and grazed away from me toward a butte with four does. It seemed like forever as he put on a show showing his dominance in the deer woods but finally grazed over the one hill I needed him to go over for me to close the distance. I took off toward the butte and glassed over it very slowly to relocate this buck and does. He was nowhere to be found but his does were right in front of me. It looked as if he may have given me the slip but with a little more patience he showed up and rejoined the does and the hunt was back on. He grazed out in front of me at 278 yards and he seemed a little nervous like he knew I was there so I got ready for the shot. With the utmost confidence I laid the cross hairs on the Buck and pulled the trigger and down he went. What a great hunt and experience I will not soon forget.

The Huskemaw scope is one of my best investments I have made. It gives me so much confidence in my shooting and makes going to the range fun again. The shot on this Mule Deer at 278 yards is a very common shot in the field and one I like to take. By using great equipment it only helps to reduce the chance of a bad shot, a miss or not taking the shot at all due to the fact the scope you have limits your ability. I feel like I have opened more opportunities and increased my chances in the woods with the Huskemaw scope. “Thought I would send a few pic’s of the B&C eligible Coues Buck I took in Sonora Mexico on 1/13/11 While hunting with Coues Country Outfitters. We spotted him bedded on a big hump from about 3/4 mile. We stalked as close as the terrain would allow, 500yds. and I got set up. We waited 45 mins. for the buck to stand up, and when he did he took two steps away and turned left, I touched the trigger and he folded like a newspaper! No blood trail here. Gross green score over 115.

The Huskemaw system worked flawlessly. I had been easily hitting bowling ball sized rocks at 600 yds. before the hunt so my confidence to make the shot was unwavering. Tagged out and in camp after the hunt I decided to have some fun. With the outfitters permission I was hitting a white rock, about the size of a loaf of bread, that was 740 yds away and uphill. I had used your BC program to print out the adjustment for a 22.5 and a 45 degree angle and carried a cheat sheet, Precision equipment at it’s finest!”

“My son Morgan and I were hunting in southern Utah this fall the deer hunting was tough the weather was extremely stormy, we have a spot we like to go to hunt after it snows, we had hiked one hour to get there. we was there 15 minutes we started seeing some does and then Morgan perked up and said there was a buck I ranged it at 550 yards he is shooting a 270 I told him to hold 20 inches over its back he shot and the deer just went about 15 yards and looked back at us. I ranged it again it was 563 yards away I handed him my 7mm rem mag with a Huskemaw on it set the turret at 550 and told him to hold right on his front shoulder, we got a good rest and I told him to shot when he was ready he squeeze the trigger. we herd the bullet hit the deer he bounded down hill I could see he was having a hard time, then the buck went into the oak we couldn’t see it any more so we waited about a half hour and headed over there, it took us about 45 minutes to get to him because the terrain was very rugged we went right were he shot him he was down about 30 yards from the impact of the bullet. needless to say I was as proud as a father could be, Morgan was very happy with his first buck. he is 15 years old and had never drawn a deer tag prior to that.
